Pick your state, enter your gross pay and filing status, and see your estimated take-home pay after federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare and state income tax. Switch the pay frequency to see the amount per paycheck, per month or per year, with a full breakdown of every deduction.

Why state matters for your paycheck

Two people on the same salary can take home very different amounts depending on the state. States like Texas charge no state income tax at all, while states like California and New York apply their own progressive brackets on top of federal tax. Choose your state above to apply the right rules.

What the calculator includes

How do I calculate my take-home pay?

Choose your state, enter your gross pay and filing status, pick how often you are paid, and press Calculate. The tool subtracts federal tax, Social Security, Medicare and state tax to estimate your net pay.

Which states have no income tax?

Several states have no state income tax on wages, including Texas, Florida, Nevada, Washington, Wyoming, South Dakota and Alaska. On the same salary, paychecks in those states are usually larger.

Is the result exact?

It is a close estimate from current federal and state tax figures. Your real paycheck also depends on your W-4, pre-tax benefits and any local taxes.

What tax year is used?

2026 federal brackets, standard deductions and Social Security wage base, with recent state brackets. Figures are updated as new official tables are published.
